Wake Forest in the news :
About Wake Forest:
Wake Forest, located in northern Wake County, is one of the state’s most charming and historic communities; in fact, the friendly downtown is an officially registered historic district. It is a progressive community of over 23,000 residents attracting people desiring the benefits of small town living as well as the convenience of metropolitan offerings nearby.
Wake Forest, founded as a college town, was the birthplace of Wake Forest University and for more than 100 years, the college and the town expanded together. In 1956, the college relocated to Winston-Salem. The beautiful centrally located campus is now home to the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and the Southeastern College at Wake Forest.
Wake Forest is home to several major manufacturers, both national and international company headquarters, large businesses, many small, ‘mom & pop’ businesses, and mid-size businesses. It is presently experiencing phenomenal, yet controlled growth as is the entire state of North Carolina.
The ‘small town’ atmosphere and warmth of Wake Forest, along with its proximity to metropolitan ammenities, is a major reason so many people have chosen to call this community home. Family is important in Wake Forest and in addition to the quality housing and education, health care is a primary concern and hence there is a full array of health services and products offered to residents. There is also a Senior Center, a Boy’s and Girl’s Club, a wonderful Parks and Recreational Department offering a variety of classes, and many town parks and pools.
The ‘magic’ of Wake Forest has drawn many talented professional artists and musicians! In 1995, the Wake Forest Cultural Arts Association founded the Area Artists’ Studio Tour, which is a two-day annual event designed to educate the public about the artistic process and to support the area’s working artists. Art After Hours Downtown WF is held the second Friday of every month, 5:30-9:00pm. Each gallery features a local artist for a special evening of fun, food, and music. Wake Forest sponsors several musical programs throughout the year and several famous, professional musicians call Wake Forest home also.
TWIN CREEKS is within the city limits and is less than 5 minutes from everything!!!
